The Black Lives Matter Movement is getting media attention, praise from politicians and corporate financial support because they are a modern day civil rights organization. Their strategy, like the civil rights organizations of the past, is to protest and beg for justice and hope the racist power structure throws them a few concessions to make their oppression more comfortable and call it progress. Any black organization that does not incorporate self defense, black power, black nationalism and pan-africanism is little more than a waste of time and energy. I believe the Black Lives Movement should have a place in our struggle, but on the periphery.
